Weekly Update
Hi GCN Family,
Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.” Now, I bet I don’t need to convince you of the truth of those words. Most of us live there. But don’t stop there. Keep going. Jesus continues: “But take heart! I have OVERCOME the world.”
This Sunday, we begin a series called, Overcoming. We’ll be talking about overcoming failure, overcoming doubt, and overcoming pain. Here’s a little spoiler: Jesus, by the power of His Spirit, is the one who has already overcome anything that has ever – and WILL ever – get you down. What are you handling today? What is heavy on your heart? Go to the only One who can overcome!
These next 3 weeks, we get to hear from some great voices and some good friends. Pastor Eric Valenstein from Impact Church (Eldersburg, MD) will be preaching this Sunday. Pastor Brian Remsch from Restoration Church (Frederick, MD) will be preaching on February 16th. Then, Pastor Shane Valenstein from City on a Hill Church (Savage, MD) will be preaching on February 23rd.
In addition to hearing from gifted preachers, it’s a wonderful opportunity to remember that the church is bigger than 8921 Warfield Road, bigger than Gaithersburg, and bigger than even just our own unique mission that God is calling us to as a local church. The Holy Spirit is moving and working in churches in other unique ways all around us. So, come these next 3 Sunday ready to receive from that same Spirit what He has for our church; what He has for you.
