Weekly Update

Happy Wednesday GCN Family,

Last night a group of GCN-ers gathered at Montgomery County Community College-Germantown to represent GCN at the Germantown National Night Out community event! Our team got to pass out cookies and invite cards for Welcome Home Sunday, pray with people and we even pampered many of our community’s kids with washable tattoos. In other words, this was just another great example of how we are embodying the Good News of Jesus to our neighborhood! It truly was a fun and perfect night to love on the people in Montgomery County. If you missed out, there is a good chance that we will be doing the same thing again next year on the first Tuesday night of August 2026… so mark your calendars! We are living in good days here at GCN and it is such a sweet joy to be able to love God and to love others with you!

SOME OTHER THINGS…
  1. Please keep our 18 GCN-ers who are at the Mid-Atlantic District Teen Camp in your prayers this week! From multiple reports… it seems like everyone is having a great time making new memories, friendships and growing in their faith in Jesus! Please also keep Pastor Brian and Pastor Lauren in your prayers as they are serving as the camp speakers this week as well! We can’t wait to hear more stories of the ways God is working in and through our youth in the days & weeks to come!
  2. Bee A Blessing Backpack Drive. For many years, GCN has been a blessing by supplying backpacks and school supplies to kids/families in our Stewartown neighborhood. “Bees” with supply lists are available in the lobby. Last week, we asked you to grab some “Bees” and you did! We only have 15 “Bees” remaining so be sure to grab one on Sunday and then plan to bring those backpacks and supplies back to GCN by Sunday, August 17th so we can get those to the Stewartown kids/families before the new school year starts!
  3. Welcome Home Sunday (and Baptism Sunday!) is September 7th. Mark the date. Invite others to join you! We will have invite cards in the lobby that you can use to invite everyone you know to come join us for this extra special Sunday at GCN! We are also planning a big picnic following the worship service, so be sure to come hungry! Interested in baptism? CLICK HERE and select “I’m interested in baptism” to let us know. One of our pastors will be in touch with you soon.
  4. GCN, know you are loved and being prayed for!

-Pastor Kevin
