Weekly Update
Hi GCN Family,
Early tomorrow morning (Thursday), our Honduras Mission Team takes off for Puerto Cortes. Please join me in prayer for: Oscar Benitez, Annie Brown, Pastor Kevin Liddle, Tony Maturana, Tony Norbedo, Kim Prestipino, Prentiss Searles, Adilia Sequeira, and Pastor Karen Van Gilder.
We partner with Cocal Gracias ministry because we’re on the same team, even though we’re a few thousand miles apart. Cocal Gracias is all about embodying the good news of Jesus to their neighborhood (Puerto Cortes and Agua Caliente). Guess what! That’s our mission, too. We are praying for the students and families our team ministers too. We pray for Brian and Rina and the Ruark family. But we also pray that we catch a little of Cocal Gracias’ vision and power and transplant that back here in Montgomery County and surrounding areas! May it be so.
I would also encourage us, church, to make space to pray for the people in the Middle East. We pray for the peace that surpasses earthly wisdom and ways. Pray for leaders. Pray for the most vulnerable. Pray for those who are most hurting and for those serving on the frontlines with compassion. Attached to this note is a prayer that the Church of the Nazarene, Eurasia Region, released earlier this week.
This Sunday, we continue in our series, Hidden Courage. It’s a journey through the book of Esther. Question: What does lament and grief look like for people who follow God?
A few other things…
Much Love,
Pastor Brian
