Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

What are you doing tonight? Join us for a Time of Prayer on the Patio. 7pm TONIGHT. Church, we are called to be a House of Prayer. We’ll be praying for discernment, as a church. Here’s the prayer: Holy Spirit, where are you working, who are you calling us to, what does it look like, and how can we join you?
 
I’m so grateful for that time together this past Sunday as we celebrated Pentecost Sunday and as we celebrated Pastors Ben and Kelly and the dedication of that Prayer Garden. We are blessed, GCN! Grateful for God’s faithfulness in our past. Grateful for the Holy Spirit’s power and provision in our present. And grateful for the bright hope for the future, because of the Holy Spirit’s guiding. God is good! Thanks to Sonia Carrero for her coordinating of that Ceremony. Thanks to Darrin Cave and his team for the wonderful picnic. Thanks to Greg Blackwell for his care for the landscaping and care of the prayer garden and surrounding area. God is good!

A few other things:

1. Father’s Day. This Sunday. We want to express gratitude for all dads and dad-like-figures and men-mentors among us. For all men (of all ages): stop by the Patio on Sunday after the worship service for a cold drink, some snacks, and a quick connection with other guys. Just a simple thank-you.
2. Also This Sunday: Hot Wings Challenge @ 6pm. This is for everyone! Come out and watch a panel of GCN adults and students face the challenge of eating increasingly spicy wings while answering tough questions. Trust us, it’ll be a lot of fun – for the whole family.
3. Summer Fun Groups! CLICK HERE to find the full list of Fun Groups. Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the next few days:
   • Ice Cream Night @ Jimmie Cone. This Friday, June 13th.
   • Married Couples Night Together. This Saturday, June 14th @ the Malotts.
   • Painting With Edna. Connect with artist, Edna Searles, for a time of painting and creativity. This is for any ages. Could be good for a small group or for an individual. Contact Lisa Sharp (melisa.sharp51@gmail.com) to book a time.

4. Our Honduras Mission Team leaves for Puerto Cortes, Honduras on June 26th. Let’s be praying over their work there with Cocal Gracias Ministry and pray for our team members: Oscar Benitez, Annie Brown, Pastor Kevin Liddle, Tony Maturana, Tony Norbedo, Kim Prestipino, Prentiss Searles, Adilia Sequeira, and Pastor Karen Van Gilder. Also, big thanks to all who donated supplies and gifts for that mission trip. By the time you read this, there might still be one item left for purchase. 5. Memorial Service Details for Karen Horsley, the mother of Pastor Ben. We continue to pray for Pastor Ben and family, in these days following the passing of his mother. A memorial service for Karen Horsley will be on Tuesday, June 17th at West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene (West Carrollton, OH). You can Click here to access her obituary.
