Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

I’m looking forward to seeing you at the Intentional Discipleship Training Day this Saturday, February 22nd. 1pm – 4pm. Nearly 60 of you have already signed up. Let’s go ahead and make it 100. It’s still not too late.

Here’s the deal: Jesus was very clear. He has called us to make disciples and to be discipled. Is that happening in your life? Are you actively leading people to Jesus? No guilt right here, but I think all of us could improve in that area. I know I can.

Sign up. Show up. Learn together. Grow together. Be discipled. Disciple others.

My prayer for our church in this coming season is: Holy Spirit, give us an insatiable hunger to see people who are far from Christ come to Christ. Give us a hunger to be discipled. Give us a hunger to disciple others. Help us to see that this is how Your Kingdom comes, right here in Gaithersburg as it is in heaven. Amen.
 
Some other things coming up soon:

• Ash Wednesday Night of Prayer. Wednesday, March 5th @ 6:30pm. Sanctuary. Join us as we begin the journey to the cross, together.
• All-Church “Welcome to the Family!” Lunch. March 23rd, immediately following our worship service. Why do we eat together? Because we love each other! And there’s always room for more in this family.
• Parent Collective. March 30th, just after the worship service. Join other parents with children ages 0-18 to connect and discuss things you’re currently facing while raising kids. Share tips and strategies and hear from a panel of seasoned parents in the hope you’ll feel less alone, overwhelmed, and anxious as you raise your kids!
• Encouragement for Pam Wong. Pam would greatly appreciate receiving some words of encouragement and support through traditional mail. She has been finding it a bit challenging to keep up with text messages during this time. If you'd like to send her a note, please feel free to mail it to her home address or to where she's staying in Baltimore for her treatment at Johns Hopkins through February 27th:
