Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

Have you received Jesus? Do you trust Him?

It’s one thing to know about Jesus, or to know the story of Jesus, or to follow Jesus from a distance for years. But, have you surrendered your life to Him? Do you trust Him?

Think about Jesus’ temptation story in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-13, Matthew 4:1-11). All 3 temptations primarily came down to this question for Jesus: Do you trust the Father, or do you trust the ways of the world? “Jesus, turn this stone to bread, because what if your Father doesn’t provide?”

Where are you struggling to really trust that God, in Christ, will provide for you? That might just be the situation that God is using to grow you and to form a deeper dependence upon Him.

To borrow an analogy from this past Sunday, GET IN THE WHEELBARROW.

Things to know…

1. All-Church Lunch this Sunday! Invite friends. The main entrees will be provided, but please bring a salad, desert, or fruit dish to share! Why do we eat together? Because we love each other. Plus, I can’t think of a better way to welcome someone into the family than to share a meal together.
2. Let us know if you want to be BAPTIZED. Have you begun a relationship with Jesus? Then be baptized! Baptism is an outward sign of what Christ has done on the inside. When you go down into the waters of baptism, it’s a sign that we have died to ourselves. When you come up out of the waters, it’s a sign that you are alive in Christ! Fill out the Connect Card and select “I’m interested in baptism”.
3. Embrace Grace Baby Shower / Purchasing Gifts. Show some moms some love by purchasing gifts. Click here for the registry. And click here to register to be a part of the Baby Shower.
4. The Parent Collective lunch. Next Sunday, March 30th, just after the morning worship service. If you are the parent of a child, ages 0-18, you’ll want to be a part of this! It’s a free lunch, but REGISTER HERE so we know you’re coming.
5. Women’s Retreat. April 12-13. For women of all ages! Last day to register is March 28th! Click here to register.
6. Easter Kids Event – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. On Easter Sunday, April 20th, we’ll have a wonderful Kids Program and Easter Egg Hunt at 9:00-10:00am. Here’s the deal: This is an all-church effort. So, we need your help. Teens, 20-somethings, middle-agers, prime-timers. Everyone! If you are interested in serving as a volunteer that morning, please CLICK HERE to sign up as a volunteer. Then, a Kids Ministry worker will be in touch with you soon. Be praying over that event.
