Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

It’s graduation season, and we’re looking forward to celebrating our 2025 Grads this Sunday morning. Here’s a helpful practice during this season to help develop even more empathy and grace for our grads: Take time to think back to what your mindset was like as a high school senior. What were you worried about? What preoccupied your thoughts? What did you think about the future?

Graduation usually represents a page-turning from one chapter of life to the next. Whether it’s high school to college, high school to gap year, high school to college, college to grad school, college to career, or anywhere in between, graduation season can be a season full of a mixture of emotions. This is where the church can be the church.

  1. Pray for Olivia Bell and Charlotte Eitemiller, our 2 high school graduates this year. Find ways to encourage them, this Sunday and always.
  2. Pray for our college graduates, as they prayerfully consider what is next in life.
  3. Our prayer these days: God, pour your Spirit out on your church, and particularly your young people in this generation. We pray for this graduating class. Gift them, equip them, empower them to lead. We need you to work in them, for the sake of your church and for the sake of our mission to our neighborhood. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Big Things Coming Up:
  1. Grad Sunday (June 1)
  2. Spitler Prayer Garden Dedication and All-Church Picnic (June 8)
  3. Summer Fun Groups (all summer)
  4. Honduras Mission Trip (June 26-July 7)
  5. Stewartown Summer Camp (July 15, 16, and 17)

Grad Sunday
This Sunday!

Spitler Prayer Garden Dedication and All-Church Picnic
June 8th is a big day! It’s Pentecost Sunday, it’s Prayer Garden Dedication Day, and it’s All-Church Picnic Day! You won’t want to miss this day as we especially celebrated God’s faithfulness in the past, particularly through the faithful ministry of Pastors Ben and Kelly. We’ll also be anticipating all that the Holy Spirit is leading us into for the future! It’ll be a party!

Summer Fun Groups
The purpose of our Summer Fun Groups is not just the fun (although, fun is good!). The primary purpose is connection. If you’re feeling strong these days, summer fun groups are for you because we need you to be there for others. If you’re feeling lonely or in need of connection these days, these groups are especially for you! Check out the list of groups and make that decision to join one (or 10) today!

Honduras Mission Trip
Pray for our mission team headed to Puerto Cortes and Agua Caliente, Honduras this summer. They’ll be working with our ministry partners, Cocal Gracias. The mission team members are: Oscar Benitez, Annie Brown, Pastor Kevin Liddle, Tony Maturana, Tony Norbedo, Kim Prestipino, Prentiss Searles, Adilia Sequeira.

Stewartown Summer Camp
Save the date (July 15-17) as we partner with Stewartown Resource Center. This is an ideal way for GCN to embody the good news of Jesus to our neighborhood!

Much Love,
Pastor Brian
